The Panorama9 system supports computers running Microsoft Windows 7 or newer. Once the Panorama9 Agent is installed it will instantly begin collecting information about the machine and report to the Panorama9 cloud. The agent will automatically update itself when a new version becomes available.

System requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 7 or newer for workstations, or Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 or newer for servers,

  • about 100 MB of free disk space provided you have .NET installed,

  • Microsoft .NET 4.5 or higher.

Start with your own machine

A good place to start is to install the agent on a single machine, e.g. your own computer. The latest version of the Panorama9 Agent for Microsoft Windows can be downloaded through the Panorama9 Dashboard.

The download dialog provides for two options:

  1. Download binary: P9Agent.msi (MSI installer)
This version requires .NET 4.0 or higher to already be installed on your machine. It is also the best suited for GPO deployment.

  2. Copy link: This copies the direct link to your binary file. This can be shared internally for quick and easy installation.

Once downloaded, simply double-click the downloaded file to begin installation. You will see a series of dialogs, most of which are explanatory and can be clicked 'Next' on without issue.

Once the installation is complete, the P9 tray icon will immediately appear in your system tray (newer versions of Windows may hide less frequently used icons). Your machine should appear on the Panorama9 Dashboard within 10 minutes.

Microsoft AD integration

If your IT environment uses the Active Directory (AD) service from Microsoft you're encouraged to enable the Panorama9 integration during install on at least 1 machine (preferable a server).

You'll then benefit from easy install of the Panorama9 Agent to machines throughout your network. Avoiding the drag of having to walk around to however many devices. For more information about the "deployment feature" and other ways to remote install see here.

Furthermore the integration allows you to import AD groups into the Panorama9 Dashboard. Use the imported groups when configuring notifications or applying policies.

The integration will also spot active devices within your network that doesn't have the Panorama9 Agent installed. So you can get them included and ensure you're getting the full picture.

Uninstall the P9 Agent

You can uninstall the Panorama9 Agent using Microsoft Windows Add/Remove programs.
